Visit www.bookcrossing.com

Here it is, 8 years after I discovered BookCrossing, the German Support Site’s new look. Over the year BookCrossing has changed its look and so the Supportsite. The latest change of BookCrossing.com in May 2010 brought us the long desired localization, which also means, that the focus of the German Support Site had to change: it is no longer needed to provide step by step instructions of how bookcrossing works. Although…

Of course, due the roots of this support site, the main language will be German. But I felt bad to create a German only site. It was clear, that the German Support Site would use a blogging software, unfortunately, although WordPress is known for his strengths, being multilanguage is not an easy task. (why does that ring me a bell? !fies! ). But its flexibility gave me the possibility to create an “English only” corner into this blog.

Of course not all posts from the support site will be translated into English. But those, which may be of interest for our English visitors will be. (Or even on demand, if someone got interested in a particular German post). Also, if translated, it could also be just a summary of the German post. We’ll see what the future will bring.

So here it is, the new German Support Site with its new name. This does not mean, that the old names are lost. By no means, they just have a new task: without “sensory overload” to get those finders of our released books to write a beautiful journal… (look for yourself: www.bookcrossers.de)

Of course, this site is not quite ready (will it ever?), so bear with me, if there is still something missing or non functional.

Yours, Wyando
